Brian and Elisa were high school sweethearts, meeting in their hometown of Sitka, AK. They have been married for 28 years, and have three kids and one son in law. Michaela and her husband Jordan live in Odense, Denmark. Logan, age 22, is pursuing his biology/entomology degree at WSU, and Spencer, age 19, is working full-time and creating some pretty amazing art.
Brian and Elisa completed their undergrad degrees at Seattle Pacific University, and then went on to grad school in Portland. Brian received his Master of Divinity from Multnomah Seminary and Elisa received her M.A. in clinical psychology from George Fox College. Brian has been in ministry since coming to know the Lord as a teenager, but has been in full-time pastoral ministry since 1996. Elisa has been in private practice as a licensed mental health therapist since the same year, with a focus on work with adolescent girls and women.
The Hopes make their home in Walla Walla, WA. after having moved from the Seattle area in 2012 to plant Mission Church. They love Walla Walla, the sun, getting outside for activities and community events, hosting friends from near and far, good food and drink, and travel when they’re able. They are embracing this new stage of life, launching their growing kids into the story God has been writing for each of them, and are looking forward to what God has for them too in this new chapter.
Marriage is inherently beautiful because it was created by God and it reflects his image and nature. Reclaiming Marriage needs to first begin with reclaiming a Biblical view of God and his purpose for the world. In this session, we will unpack how the Gospel affects the way we are to understand God and subsequently, marriage.
If marriage is beautiful, then why is it so hard? In this session, we will seek to answer this question by exploring the ways that sin has crept into our marriages and marred God's good design.
To achieve a goal, you need an action plan for how to reach it. Marriage is no different. In this session, we'll explore how to build up your marriage toolset and apply the truth of the Gospel to your marriage in practical, helpful ways.
We're offering this conference free of charge but would gladly accept donations if you would like to help offset the cost and fund future training opportunities. Sign up and reserve your spot today!
