Matthew 28:16–20

[16] Now the eleven disciples went to Galilee, to the mountain to which Jesus had directed them. [17] And when they saw him they worshiped him, but some doubted. [18] And Jesus came and said to them, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. [19] Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, [20] teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.” (ESV)

Call to Worship

Psalm 81:1–3

[1] Sing aloud to God our strength;
shout for joy to the God of Jacob!
[2] Raise a song; sound the tambourine,
the sweet lyre with the harp.
[3] Blow the trumpet at the new moon,
at the full moon, on our feast day.

Prayer of Repentance

Father, we have minds that are set on the flesh, which are hostile to you and do not submit to your law. Lord, we repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand. Do not let our iniquities be our ruin; but take away our sin, that we may not die. Create in us clean hearts, O God, and renew right spirits within us. Amen.

Benediction

May the risen Lord Jesus, who was given all authority in heaven and on earth, quiet every fear and doubt as you rest in His supreme reign. May He strengthen his Church to make disciples of all nations,
baptizing them and teaching them to observe his commands. May His promise sustain you, “I am with you always, to the end of the age” as you steward and build upon the legacy of mission for those yet to come. In the name of Jesus Christ, amen.
