Prayer for Easter Morning

April 5, 2026
|
preached by

Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. Whoever believes in me, though he die, yet shall he live, and everyone who lives and believes in me shall never die. Do you believe this?” -John 11:25–26

Prayer

Holy Spirit,
On this day of celebration, fill our weak and weary hearts with gladness.
Shine forth rays of hope into each dark corner of our lives.
Our Savior is alive! Death is defeated!
We pray that resurrection joy would turn
into sustaining grace for each new day ahead.

O Gracious Redeemer,
The suffering and agony of the cross did not deter you.
You endured our punishment for the joy set before you.
You are the firstborn of the dead, that in everything you might be preeminent.
Son of God, we exalt your name!
Son of Man, we give thanks for your wondrous works!

Heavenly Father,
We humble ourselves before you.
You are both just and the justifier of sinners.
Your triumph is our redemption, grace abounding to us.
We pray that you bring more and more sons and daughters to glory.
May the whole earth marvel at our resurrected Lord!

Amen
