Romans 8:31–39

[31] What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? [32] He who did not spare his own Son but gave him up for us all, how will he not also with him graciously give us all things? [33] Who shall bring any charge against God’s elect? It is God who justifies. [34] Who is to condemn? Christ Jesus is the one who died—more than that, who was raised—who is at the right hand of God, who indeed is interceding for us. [35] Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or danger, or sword? [36] As it is written,

“For your sake we are being killed all the day long;
we are regarded as sheep to be slaughtered.”

[37] No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. [38] For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, [39] nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord. (ESV)

Call to Worship

Psalm 47:5–7

[5] God has gone up with a shout,
the LORD with the sound of a trumpet.
[6] Sing praises to God, sing praises!
Sing praises to our King, sing praises!
[7] For God is the King of all the earth;
sing praises with a psalm! (ESV)

Prayer of Repentance

Almighty and most merciful Father, we have strayed from your ways like lost sheep. We have followed the desires of our own hearts. We have offended against your holy laws. We have done what we ought not to have done, and we have not done what we ought to have done. O Lord, have mercy on us! Spare those who confess their faults. Restore those who are repentant. And for the sake of our Lord Jesus Christ, grant that we may hereafter live godly and righteous lives to your glory. Amen.

Benediction

May the LORD,  Who gave His Son for you, silence every accusation and secure your heart in His unchanging love. May you stand unshaken, knowing that nothing can separate you from the love of God in Christ Jesus. May this truth anchor you in every trial and fill you with triumphant hope until you enter glory. In the strong name of Jesus we pray, Amen.
